BIGFOOT TO GET A CUSTOM SOULCRAFT FRAME!
This year, Team Bigfoot is busy in the legendary Humboldt County. Soulcraft Bicycles’ Matt and Sean are strong supporters of Team Bigfoots small-time, grass roots races. Soulcraft is the title sponsor of 12 Hours of Weaverville, kicking off the summer and the Bigfoot Series in style. Soulcraft is also the title sponsor for the finale of the season, the Lagrange Fall Classic in Weaverville. The final race will see a lucky winner win a customized Soulcraft frame of their choice. This is how it works. Each rider receives one raffle ticket at each Team Bigfoots 2004 event. The winners get an additional 5 second-place prizes, 3 third-place bonuses, and 2 additional raffle tickets. The winner is drawn at the Lagrange cross country, October 14. Lucky winner will have Matt & Sean build whatever bike they choose: 29er, 29er, singlespeed or road, in any color, and in any style.

June 19, 12 Hours of Weaverville. Solos, 4 riders, and 2 riders race on a 14-mile dirt course that uses a mix of fire roads and narrow flume trails on the famous Weaverville Basin Trail System. It is located in Weaverville (CA), about 45 miles west from Redding. TINKER JUAREZ IS HERE! Trinity High School is the main venue with real bathrooms, showers, and in-town convenience. This event benefits the Weaverville Basin Trail System as well as Friday Night Live, a youth alcohol and drug treatment program.

July 16, 17, & 18: Bigfoot Classic at Bald Mountain in Arcata, CA: This iconic event dates back to the beginning of mountain biking. It is a benefit for Humboldt County Search & Rescue Team. These courses are challenging and epic. The day ends with a BBQ, Huffy Toss, and Wheelie Contest. Don’t miss Sunday’s finale! The free mass will descend from Bald Mountain to the pitsits wild. Friday Hillclimb, Saturday Cross Country, Sunday Short Track and Sunday Cross Country. Sunday Downhill. All of it takes place on beautiful timberland. Follow Hwy 299 east to Arcata for 13 miles. Turn right at Bigfoot, 2.4m tall (really), and follow dirt road 4 mi to race site.

August 28th: 12 Hours at Humboldt, Arcata CA: Teams of 4 riders, 2 or more will race an 8-mile course under the massive redwoods of Arcata Community Forest. Tinker Juarez called the course one of my favorite courses and said it has 1600m of climbing per lap. Redwood Park is the main venue, located just two minutes from Highway 101. It’s right next to Humboldt State University. You can order lunch in-town from your pit, or have it delivered to you. This year’s event benefits the Arcata Forest Funds effort for a purchase of a parcel 181 acres to the Arcata Community Forest.

September 17, 18, and 19: Tis Tang Tangle Willow Creek, CA: The famous Tish Tang Tangle downhill and cross-country are back after a five year hiatus! All of it is located just outside Willow Creek, 40 miles from Arcata on Hwy 299 It’s a network trail system that runs along Tish Tang Creek on US Forest Service land and Hoopa Tribal land. It will return in all its glory, including the 28-mile XC course. Thanks to the many foks who kept it riding and maintaining over the years, it is still in great shape. The downhill of 7 minutes and more will return, with some new twists, turns, and air time opportunities. Camping is available at the race venue.

October 16, 16 and 17: Lagrange Fall Classic in Weaverville (CA): Hillclimb Friday; cross country Saturday; downhill Sunday. Although this classic was lost for a while, Team Bigfoot brought it back in 2015 to great reviews! Cross country runs on the famous Lagrange Ditch singletrack, alongside flumes that were built in the early days of gold mining at 4,699 cms. The steep and exciting downhill course is a thrill ride. Expert times of over 9 minutes were recorded in the longlast year. This event benefits the Weaverville Basin Trail System as well as Friday Night Live, a youth alcohol and drug treatment program.

In the coming weeks, Team Bigfoots will post more information and entry forms along with a map of the race.
